Dr. Snežana Popov, a research associate at the University of Novi Sad’s Faculty of Science, specializes in the ecology and conservation of hoverflies. She pursued specialist academic studies in Sustainable Agriculture at the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute in Bari, Italy. In 2017, she completed her doctoral studies in environmental sciences, delving into the impact of landscape structure and land use on phytophagous genera of hoverflies. Dr. Popov has been honored with national and international scholarships and awards, such as the Privrednik Foundation scholarship, Ministry of Education scholarships, the Community Ecology Award, and Social Impact Award (SIA Serbia). She is a co-author of a distinguished international monograph and numerous scientific papers on hoverfly ecology and conservation, published in reputable international journals. Dr. Popov also contributed as a reviewer for the European Red List of hoverflies.
